From hair care to bread treatments, creative marking to mobile bartending and much more, Case Western Reserve University is presenting the third annual black business exhibition.
The event, from noon to 6 pm, produced, February 12, at the University Center of Tinkham Veale, serves two main goals: to present and promote more than 40 black -owned businesses (see the list below) in Greater Cleveland For potential customers, while providing sellers’ resources to improve their enterprises.
Black business owners will have the opportunity to networking and learned from financial literacy experts – and to sell their goods and services to the public.
“As a pillar of the city, sitting in the heart of the lively black community of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve seeks to celebrate black venture, honor black culture and serve as a source for our local community,” Robert Solomon said , Vice President of the Office of the Office for Diversity, Equality and Comprehensive Commitment.
The exhibition is created to provide valuable information, education and exposure of the product for black -owned businesses.
The exhibition will be presented in two parts: the morning session is specifically offered to the owners of businesses registered as a seller. The afternoon session is an opportunity for sellers to trade and sell their products.
Planned speakers
- A representative of the Council of President, the African -American Business Chamber of Commerce, which will focus on understanding business strategies to build business for black business owners.
- Mary Luberger, from the procurement and distribution services of the Case Western Reserve, who will explain the processes involved to become a seller through procurement with the university.
- US Bank Representative Norlynn Story, who will discuss the services of the bank owners available undeserved.
- Representatives of UBIZ Venture Capital, established with support from the Greater Cleveland’s urban connection, will discuss the UBIZ program that focuses on minority -owned businesses.
- Meltrice Sharp, of the Cleconsulting firm, will ensure writing -financial reading for business owners.
“Through this initiative,” said Heather Burton, Associate Vice President and Senior Director for the Faculty and Institutional Diversity, “The Office aims to support black business and introduce the CWRU community to the local business to be a catalyst for diversification of options of the university seller. “
