One person says the salon, Mirror Mirror, did not deserve this and that the firefighter should be held responsible. So we went and talked to neighbors and business owners on Friday.
Angie Benning, owner of Mirror Mirror Salon, has poured her heart and soul into her business.
“I got a call from one of the gals that operates here and she had told me my roof was on fire,” Benning said.

The video taken from inside the Saturday salon shows the debris that falls into the Benning business and nearby houses. The controlled fire was carried out by the Norwegian fire city, which was accompanied by seven other nearby departments.

“I just wanted to make sure my home was not on fire, you know. That’s the thing. I collided that they even did it,” said one neighbor, who did not want to be identified, he said.
Neighbors behind the salon showed me to burn holes and other damage from the fire out of control.

For benning, the damage is quite wide.
“There were over 250 holes, so I know we need a new roof. The insulation inside is wet, so that means we probably need new insulation as well as some of the roof boards,” Benning explained.
Benning said there is also internal damage to the smoke, all, she said, will cost tens of thousands.

“My biggest concern is that my business, that I poured my heart in and all my money and time, will not return to what it is,” Benning said.
“Who do you think is responsible for arranging what has been damaged?” Reporter Jenna Rai asked Benning.
“I would imagine anyone at the top of the controlled burning burn,” she replied.

“Do you think the city should be held responsible for the damage done to your neighbors and the neighborhood?” Rae asked another neighbor.
“Of course I do,” he said.
Norwegian city fire chief Jim Apples was not personally available on Friday, so I talked to her on the phone.
“First and foremost, apologize for any of the damages caused by burning and notify those who are fully targeted, both firefighters and city, to work with them in order to regulate the damages and or replace anything that was damaged,” said apples.

Apples said they extinguished it prematurely after learning about neighborhood damage.
The city administrator said that business owners and homeowners could submit a request to the city, then the city board will decide what is covered.

TMJ4 will continue to be followed.
